Startled By Our Resident...Rattler!

A Saturday morning walk along the northeast end of our property, and HELLO! Mr Rattler almost sent Lewis and I on a 100 yard sprint. Woke us right up. The dogs ran right past, and around the big boy. We have started to walk the property with waling canes since we read this summer we would have an increase in snakes. And we have had at least 3-4 sighting of bull snakes; this is the first rattlesnake I have seen since living in Colorado, and I am a Colorado Native. We walked right up on it. Thank God they are equipped with a rattle. He gave us a good warning. We gave him a wide berth and let him take his morning sun bath. Whew!
